The InterContinental Yokohama Grand, situated in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama, opened in 1991 as the first hotel of the InterContinental Hotels Group in Japan. The hotel exterior, which evokes the image of a white sail against the blue sea, is today a landmark in the Yokohama downtown area.
